Half-Way House, Lewes to Uckfield

Half-Way House, Lewes to Uckfield

This painting is about the blissful beginnings for this newcomer. The Road to Uckfield goes past the aptly named Harveys Brewery pub: Half-Way House. The pub I’ve painted as a bit of a gingerbread house (the road really does twist like that) and the road signs are like lollypops. The scene is spring with its lush gentle greens, bursting with flowers, delicate and tiny like a micro explosion, a firework, or a little star.

Farley Farm House sold the original of this painting to an American couple. There are limited edition artist’s prints available here.
